On Tuesday, a bullet train bound for Hong Kong left from Chengdu in Sichuan province.

The train carried Olympic champions, roller skaters, opera performers and intangible cultural heritage inheritors from Sichuan. They were headed to Hong Kong to represent their city in a 2025 Chengdu World Games countdown event.

The 2025 Chengdu World Games will begin on Aug 7, 2025.

To celebrate the one-year countdown, the games' organizing committee will host the World Games Carnival from Wednesday to Sunday in the main venue of the International Horticultural Exhibition 2024 Chengdu in the Chengdu Eastern New Area.

Visitors to the venue can experience Latin dance, breakdancing, trampolines, soft hockey, power surfboarding, and kayaking.
