Ministry addresses reservation issues at tourist spots
Multiple measures are being taken to address people's difficulties in booking tickets and making reservations for tourist attractions during peak traveling seasons such as holidays and vacations, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism said on Friday.
Such measures include that all scenic spots retain manual ticketing counters to meet people's needs for visits and tours to the maximum extent; temporary visitors and elderly people should be allowed in without reservation if the accommodating capacity of the scenic spot allows; and scenic spots should improve their reservation measures, optimize reservation procedures and minimize the collection of visitors' personal information.
The ministry made the response after some people's recent complaint online that since tourist attractions implemented appointment systems, planning trips during holidays and peak seasons has become a headache.
"Previously, it was only necessary to scramble for train tickets, but now, one also needs to make reservations and compete for entrance tickets on various public booking accounts of tourist attractions," a neitizen from Wuhan, Hubei province, commented online.
