The National Bureau of Statistics released the unemployment figures for July on Friday, revealing notable age-related variations in jobless rates among China's urban workforce.

Data indicates that the unemployment rate for urban workers aged 16 to 24, excluding on-campus students, has surged to 17.1 percent, up from 13.2 percent in June.

The unemployment rate for workers aged 25 to 29, also excluding students, stands at 6.5 percent, while it was 6.4 percent last month.

As for those between 30 and 59 years old, the unemployment rate has dropped to 3.9 percent — 0.1 percentage point from that of June.
