Hair trendsetter Robert Pattinson

Robert Pattinson has won a legion of female fans with his portrayal of Edward Cullen in the 'Twilight' movies and now it seems he's become a hit with men.

Robert's slightly messy hairstyle is now one of the most requested looks at salon's across the world as young males pay homage to Hollywood's latest heartthrob and the cut is set to stay popular for the rest of the year.

Former UK men's hairdresser of the year Jamie Stevens - who is artistic director at the prestigious Errol Douglas salon in Knightsbridge, London - said of the style and others set to be big in 2010: "The versatile slightly longer style with the quiff can be styled up or slicked back and is very adaptable as it can look both dressy and messy. Other key trends for 2010 are short blond hair for a really sharp look. Undercutting is also very on trend, as you can see from David Beckham."

While younger men may copy Robert and David's look, the older man can follow in George Clooney's footsteps by embracing their greying locks, as the silver look is in.

Jamie - hairdresser to Hugh Grant and TV presenter Gok Wan - added to BANG Showbiz: "Traditionally men have covered up their grey with sometimes obvious darker colour - it's a high maintenance look and you have to keep colouring. For my older men who may be going a little grey, I suggest embracing it - have an ash toner on greying hair to give a more silver feel, a la George Clooney, which looks cleaner and more on trend. And the best bit is, it only takes 15 minutes."

To achieve this look an ash toner is applied for five minutes to strip out any dullness or yellow tones. It's not a drastic change, but leaves hair much cleaner and silver looking. The treatment is done at the backwash so just looks like you're having a shampoo.
