“吃出來”的慣用語

俗話說“民以食為天”，“吃”是無比重要的事情，也因此，不管什么語言中，從“吃”中引申出來的表達也就特別多。今天我們就來看看英語中一些“吃出來”的慣用語。
1. She is the apple of his eye.
他非常寵愛她。
2. I don’t know beans about that. 我對此一無所知。
3. Where is the beef after all? 實質(zhì)問題究竟在哪兒？
4. I live on bread and water at school. 我在學校時過著粗茶淡飯的生活。
5. It’s only a piece of cake. 那是件很容易的事。
6. He gives a carrot to the boy. 他引誘這個男孩。
7. He is the big cheese. 他是個重要人物。
8. Well, I have other fish to fry. 好吧，我還有別的事要干。
9. He is just sour grapes. 他只是吃不到葡萄說葡萄酸。

11. He is eating humble pie. 他出丑了。
12. Mr. Green is a small (big) potato. 格林先生是個小（大）人物。

14. I'm afraid he is in the soup. 恐怕他有麻煩。
15. It's another cup of tea. 那是另一回事兒。
