The incomes of Shanxi’s small and micro enterprises (SMEs) in the first half of the year were 7.4 percent higher than the same period last year, according to a sample survey?carried by?the province's survey office of the?National Bureau of Statistics.

From January to June, over sixty percent of the province’s SMEs saw stable development or growth, up 5.5 percentage points from the end of last year. In the first half of the year, the total assets of businesses in livelihood and high technology fields, such as education, scientific research and technological services grew more than 15 percent year-on-year.

The modern services such as information technology and public facilities management saw double-digit growth in income, while income in traditional industries fell. The data reflect the modernization of Shanxi’s SMEs' industry structure.
