The "Food & Tourism Passport", one of the crucial elements of the 8th "China International Food & Tourism Festival", was officially launched on September 28. Since it was a hit at the previous festivals, this year's "Food & Tourism Passport" is themed "Making the most out of the Food & Tourism Passport and Experiencing the Charm of the Delicacy Capital".

The Food & Tourism Passport will be granted to domestic and foreign tourists in Chengdu from September 28 to October 8. As introduced by Chen Shi'an, deputy director of the municipal tourism administration, the Food & Tourism Passport will cover 18 districts (cities) and counties of Chengdu. 71 brands and local specialties will be highlighted on the Passport.

Tourists can get the passport at various places in Chengdu, such as Kuanzhai Alley, Manjusri Mill, Jinsha Relics Museum; applications can also be made via Chengdu traveling hotline, Sina hotline and Ctrip hotline or from selected radio and TV stations and airlines.

Consumers with the Food & Tourism Passport will receive discounts when buying products from the recommended brands. They can also mail back the sealed passport to the organizing committee to go into a lucky draw. The top prizes include an air ticket out of Chengdu, two nights stay in a suite at a four-star hotel in Chengdu and a combo ticket for entry to scenic spots in Chengdu. The first two prizes are provided by Ctrip, while the third prize is provided by Chengdu Tourism Administration.
